Representatives of the 15 or so churches in the Mid-Sussex Group (MSG) of Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) met together at Christ Church, Haywards Heath for a combined prayer meeting on Wednesday evening 23/7/14
Trevor Archer, FIEC director for training, gave an update on the wide range of FIEC initiatives and activities. Across the UK church attendance at gospel churches is at best staying level, and otherwise facing decline. We need to grasp the opportunity to re-evangelise the UK, and time money and effort is being expended in doing so.
Trevor also spoke briefly and encouragingly from a text in 1 Peter. David Sprouse of Cuckfield Baptist Church chaired the meeting.
We also had bullet points for prayer from each of the churches. We broke up into groups of 6 or so to pray together.
It was really good to be together and meet up with people for whom we pray, but whose faces we see only on special occasions.
