Our church has had links with Sri Lanka going back more than 25 years. Students who came from Sri Lanka to study returned home to serve the Christian faith, found churches, and – in one case – found a theological college.
The visit paid by Philip Wells during February on behalf of the church was for the sake of maintaining and developing those bonds of fellowship.
Last Sunday evening he reported back on his trip.
There was a week of sessions at Baldaeus Theological College, founded by Dr. Charles Hoole. This is in the north east of the island.
There was a week’s visit to see friends in Mannar district (north west)
There are other associate churches at Keeri, and on Mannar Mainland.
The final days of the visit were spent in Colombo visiting and encouraging other old friends.
