Brighton Festival Community Art Project for school children and students.
As part of the Brighton Festival Fringe from 1st-23rd May 2004 we are organising a competition of children’s art work to be displayed in the Brighton Railway Mission Schoolrooms (part of our church building).
The theme of the competition is Brighton’s Victorian Railways – a slice of the past explored by the youth of today. Our aim is to stimulate imaginative and creative interest in an important factor which made our city what it is – architecturally, economically, historically, geographically, culturally and spiritually.
Entries may be in any medium. The judges will look for those entries which best capture the atmosphere and impact of the subject.
First and second prizes will be awarded in age groups as below:
15+ | first prize £50 second prize £25 |
11-14 | first prize £50 second prize £25 |
7-10 | art materials to the value of £25, £15 |
under 7 | art materials to the value of £10, £5 |
All entries will be rewarded, and as many entries as possible will be put on public display.
Mounted entries must be submitted by 17.00 on Thursday 29th April 2004.
Entries can be brought to the Mission Schoolrooms in Stanley Road on Sundays 10.00-11.00, 12.15-13.00 or by arrangement (please email us).
This event is sponsored by Avard Estate Agents, Brighton.
